By Car
Being only about 30K from Junctions 11-14 of the A75 we are easily accessible
from all Channel ferryports and, of course, the Channel Tunnel. The A75
then carries on towards the south coast and the Spanish border so access
from the Med is simple. Just north of us the A89 from the west and the A72
from the east meet at the A75, putting us at a very neat crossroads in almost
the dead centre of France. If the autoroutes are not for you, an up to date
edition of the Michelin map will guide you via the quieter country roads,
or we can advise a route for you.
By Air
Ryanair fly into Lyon (about a 2 hour drive away) from Stanstead
and all the usual car hire companies are represented at the airport.
Our nearest airport is Clermont Ferrand (1 hour), serviced mainly by
Air France. From the UK you would have to fly via Paris or Amsterdam.
We are also reachable from Rodez and Limoges, both serviced by Ryanair.
We are keeping our ear to the ground for any news of a budget airline
flying into Clermont Ferrand – quite likely, as the airport is
soon to be out of the control of the French Government, and will update
this site as soon as we know.
By Train
If you wish to use the Eurostar service to Paris, Issoire is then on a direct
route out of Paris Gare de Lyon, travelling time approximately 4 hours. Car
hire is readily available in Issoire, or we can arrange to collect you.
